Solarize Brownsville Working imageThanks to a NY State grant that helped create the “Solarize Brownsville” initiative, Brownsville homeowners will now have the opportunity to have solar panels installed on their homes, for FREE.  Solarize Brownsville is an initiative that includes East New York Restoration LDC, BlocPower, Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corp and Sun-Ra Solar.  Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, who represents most of Brownsville, has been a big supporter of the idea of Brownsville going green, and the Solarize Brownsville initiative.

The Solarize Brownsville team has selected Level Solar to activate the free consultations and free installations.   According to Level Solar, the Nehemiah homes in Brownsville are a perfect fit to have the solar panels installed because of the pitch on the roofs of those particular homes.

Level Solar is looking to install the solar panels on 100 homes.  Homeowners should expect to see monthly savings in their electricity bills with the installation of solar panels.

Homeowners and key stakeholders are invited to come out to learn more about the initiative at a special information session in Brownsville, Friday June 10, 2016 from 12pm-2pm at 444 Thomas Boyland St., Brooklyn NY 11212.
