Dominique Carson: A Young Journalist in the Making
Dominique M. Carson, an East New York native is a humble and hardworking young lady who is on her way. But, the road to success was not easy for Carson. For the first four years of her life, she was hearing impaired as a child. But with the help of her mother, sister, family, friends, and her faith in God, Carson continues to flourish professionally and professionally.
She received her bachelors degree in Journalism and Italian in May 2012. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Media Studies at Brooklyn College. Carson’s expected graduation date is May 2014. The program informs students about critical media study, media management, marketing, publicity, and fieldwork. She discovered her love for writing and media at the age of eight when she watched the television show Teen Summit. Fifteen years later, Carson’s articles, profiles, columns, and editorial pieces has been featured in Brooklyn College’s media outlets, Bay Currents, Urbane Perspective Media+ Lifestyle, Inc, Pure Soul Magazine, NYCityWatch.org, Brooklyn Daily Eagle internet edition, and Education Update.
Carson is also a freelance music critic for Singersroom.com and Soultrain.com and has interviewed numerous artists in the entertainment industry. Carson has received numerous awards in academics, writing, community service, and civic engagement. Carson’s long-term goal is to receive her doctoral degree in Media & Communications at Columbia or New York University and be an award-winning journalist.
