Brooklyn Center For The Performing Arts At Brooklyn College Presents: Caryl Churchill’s “Fen” Playing Through October 15th!
“The Department of Theatre’s Season Premiere
In a companion work to her Obie-winning 1982 play Top Girls, Caryl Churchill penned Fen, an unforgettable mosaic of the lives of England’s “bottom girls,” landless tenant farmers, whose longing for release from the dirt and toil of agrarian life is supplanted by the brutal struggle for survival in the Fenlands. Drawing on interviews of inhabitants of the Fens, and digging deep into the lore of its grit, Churchill brings us a parable for our times, where multinational corporations rape and reap the rewards of the land, while workers stay bound to it.”
